Storytelling in French Sign Language (LSF)

Its not often that I come across a great example of storytelling in sign language. A famous French children’s book “Coyote Mauve” has been told in Langue des Signes Français and it is beautifully simple.

There is no text, but the images come alive through the storytelling without competing with it. You get a sense of action and you want to know what happens next. There is no emphasis on French grammar which is what needs to happen in some storytelling sessions.

Have a look and see what you think!
