Playing with Sound in Sign Language

The goal of “The Gog” is to teach primary aged deaf children about onomatopoeia, in a new way!

The Gog book uses sign language to represent sound. It also combines sound with sign language in word play activities. Children can have great fun Baaing like a sheep then transforming this into a Baa-rrk like a dog!

The aim is to encourage children to be creative with their language and to support those who may have difficulty in understanding onomatopoeic sounds.
